OLSUAE

Working Permits

There is a labor code provided by the government for workers in Dubai. It is stated there that employees should submit an application in Ministry of Labor wherein they will issue a permit that will last for three years. This working permit is only available for migrant workers so, if you are an Emirati, you don’t need to get one

Employment Contract

According to the law, the maximum contract is four years and it will only have considered as a valid contract if it includes the initiation date, commencement date and the designation of the employee in the contract.

WAGES

Wages or compensation should be given to employees in a form of cash. Wages can be paid hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly or per job basis. Incentives such as cost of living should also be included in wages.

Working Hours

The normal working hours in UAE is eight hours a day like the rest of the world. But in some establishments like hotels and restaurants, they can extend their working hours until nine. Any work exceeding eight hours is considered an overtime and overtime pay should be done.

Overseas Labor Supply

Leave

Employees are entitled a leave if you have served more than six months. According to the law, the employers are entitled to pay you the basic salary plus all the benefits that is included in your package. If you have served for more than a year, you are entitled an annual leave of 30 days.

Safety Measures

A lot of works in Dubai is too risky for human beings. The law also protects those who work with their lives at stake. Dubai law, requires the workers to have proper gears in working in dangerous workplace. A clean environment is also needed as well as medical facilities should be provided.
